For many people, but especially in creative people, imagery appears all around us but most commonly in the shapes of clouds. The image I found was in a latte .... a woman dancing on the top of the coffee which became the foundation of this painting.

The painting of this print was inspired by another painting "It is Written" (which came to me in a dream). "In the Distance" seemed a natural feed off from this painting.

The image for the orginal painting came to me in a dream. So strong was the image that I began work on it the next day.

The orginal painting was commissioned for Betty's husband and his first love of dogs was with Pugs - hense the name Lord Pug. I was inspired by the idea of creating a 'story line' from 'Miss Elizabeth and Mia' and connect the two paintings just as the two people are connected in real life. So, with his nose in the air Lord Pug strides through the garden noticing a pretty blonde lady perched on a park bench behind him. He pretends that he hasn't seen her but, ohhh, how he struts.

The orginal painting was commissioned for Betty who had a passion for Victoriana which worked perfectly with her love for her poodles. So here they sit in a secluded garden enjoying the sunshine and fresh air blissfully unaware of the two ladies gossiping in the background.

The inspiration that came for the orginal painting was from my enviroment where since living on the Hibiscus Coast the sea and the beach have been a constant in my life. Here the little dog and his mistress are enjoying a little frolic by the sea.

The orginal painting was inspired by the Wellington Symphony Orchestra. The Cellist were mainly female and it occurred to me that they must hav to make a lot of personal sacrifices to be a part of such a well reknown orchestra. I was compelled to capture my ideas in a painting and so that painting became "The Cellist".

The photograph held my attention and captured my imagination and I couldn't resist manipulating details to meet the picture forming in my head. In this moment he has asked a question and she pauses before answering.

The orginal painting was Commissioned. It was iinspired by the relationship of the woman and her dog, Rex. As petite as she for dog was quite a big strong animal and yet there is no doubt of who was in charge - in the painting you will notice her hand resting on his back showing her control over him.

The inspiration of a love story is always compelling but when it is linked to another country (in this case Russia) it became doubly so. The painting that this print came from was triggered from being in the company of these two and hearing their story. It wasn't long before it was knitting itself together with the famous love story Dr Zhivago.

This painting was inspired by a visitor to my garden who made his way up from Puri Park - his majesty and beauty took many years before I took the courage to paint him. Puri Park and the peacocks are long gone but the memory is still there. You don't have to be a native bird to be beautiful and appreciated.
