COMMISSIONS

'Commissions', for me, are very special. The best way for me to discribe them (the commissions) is that they are

Stylized Portraits telling Your Story in Art Form.

They are not conventional but aspire for you (or a person) to be incorporated into an artwork that tells a story of some point or feeling of your life. "Likeness" of you isn't the goal but the "feeling" is. In this way the painting becomes more ''universal'' where many other people can also relate to it, but for you, becomes very personal and often people feel quite emotional when they see the finished painting.

Because this type of work is intuitive I need no instruction - infact the less instruction the better. That being said I may ask for information and certainly want to chat to you to get the feeling of what you are about. Sometimes I will need photos as reference work especially if there are animals involved. Ofcourse this process has its own time frame and I need to wait for the inspiration to strike - it differs from person to person - sometimes the inspiration is immediate other times it may take a week or two, or prompt a second visit.

You will be kept up to date by way of photos of the progress which is fun and gives you the first insight to how your painting is going to look finished. Ofcourse there is a high level of trust that I will get it right, however, if you don't like the painting you are under no obligation to buy it and it will be exhibited for sale along with my other art work. Your decision to buy will need to be made before the framing of the work.

The cost for a commissioned work is $600 plus the framing - usually around $200-$300 (depending on the frame you choose ) which includes UV protected glass.
